THe lens barrier on TZ5 camera is broken - it won't disappear but
the lens barrier doesn't disappear completely - the top hangs down and causes a black shadow in the top right of every picture

Bette Dion this is going to be a bit tricky. You can try to follow the tricks on here. Ultimately, if you cannot gt it fixed, I'd repalce teh complete lens unit. Here is the guide for it Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 Camera Lens Assembly Replacement and the part is avaialble for `$30-40 USD at places like ebay.com etc.
