Not powering after changing housing

So i bought the housing for my old ipad 3 3g and after i replaced it, it was working for a while and afterwards it dont wont start up.

1. Not sure if its the battery, but after i get it out from the old one there was smell of UHU glue. (did i puncture the battery ?)

2. Its still working until i stack books up the ipad as i dont have a heat gun to stick the screen back. After i removed the book, it wont start up. (did i broke the lcd ?)

The smell of solvent is not a good sign, as you say, you may have punctured the battery. As for stacking books, if they were larger than the ipad and resting on the outside edge of the housing, then it should be okay. The exception here is if you stacked too many books, caused a deflection in the digitizer which could have damaged the LCD.

What are the other signs of punctured battery other than the smell ? As of the books they are about the same size as the ipad. Should be around 1-2 kg i believe

You'll have to visually inspect the battery.
