Boot camp issue. “Windows could not prepare the computer to boot...”

I’m trying to install a partition of windows on my 2011 MacBook Pro. At first, I used boot camp but then windows refused to install on the formatted partition and I got the “GPT” error. So, I instead, rather than using boot camp, made the NTFS partition manually. Now, I get the following error after the “installing updates” part is checked in the installation menu: “Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.”

I’ve tried resetting the PRAM and SMC and had no luck. This Mac has the famous GPU problem so I have currently programmed it to only run on integrated graphics. Could this be the issue? I don’t know though I get a feeling that the GPU is not the problem because this error appears to be fairly common despite no definite solution existing online. Anyone have advice on what to do? I’m installing windows with a usb drive with an iso installed into it.

Sadly I think you nailed it here ;-{

The Windows installer is trying to use the dedicated GPU but as you disabled it Windows is stuck in limbo.

Interesting. Is there a way around this? Since I forced macOS to use integrated graphics I assume I can do the same with windows, right?

You'll need to revert back so the GPU is enabled to get Windows to install.

Alright. So I reset the PRAM which also reset my GPU settings, so the computer now can use the failed amd GPU. Now upon installation, I get this message “Windows could not update the computer’s boot configuration. Installation can not proceed.”
