iPhone randomly shuts off!

Hi,

I had a cracked screen which i got it replaced. After 2 weeks, while on call i use to hear noice buzz.. later which stopped and not the iphone shuts off automatically and randomly. It shows loading circle as if it's shutting down. After i switch on the iphone the battery is half down and sometimes it's restarts again at home screen. Someone told me that the ground wire is loose..

can you tell me what could be the problem and if it's ground wire, where is in inside so i can rectify it.

[edit]

If my iphone is at 75% battery and if i restart it, the battery jumps to 5% or less..

You need to take it back to the person who did the repair. Either the antenna is loose so the phone is using extra power to maintain a signal, or the battery connection is damaged. Either way there would be a good argument that the repair has damaged your phone and they should repair it!

Thx for that great reply. Any possible way that I can check myself if the antenna connection is loose or the battery connection is damaged? When I opened the back black cover, I can see a white wire connected at the extreme lower left side which is also touching the steel border of the iPhone. Should it touch or should it not?

Do you have the back off completely? The White wire sounds like the antenna... It runs along the metal rim and as long as the wire is intact from start to finish should be no problem. It has a push on type connection with a glue over the top.the repairman may not have put the connector on properly. Try reseating it.

As for the battery.. It has 3 wires soldered to the motheboard, when the display is changed the battery is either desoldered or moved... Either way check a) the contacts are in the right order.b) solder balls aren't touching c) wires are undamaged. Take a look at the ifixit guide for display repair.... link is Top right under photo of phone. Good luck!

The back is completely off.. i can see two white wires running down on the left slide. one running from top is the Wifi wire and the one running from top of battery is the GSM wire, both are intact and attached properly. also the battery connections are proper. none of the solder balls are touching, wires are also undamaged.. now no idea what the problem could be :-(

If the battery is giving out more power to keep the gsm signal or wifi signal, then if i don't use wifi and also keep the iphone no airplane mode, still the iphone shuts off automatically. so there can be another problem?

You could try a new battery. If thus is original it may be near end of it's life, and random shutdowns can be a sign of dying battery.
