Is my screen blue,
i have a picture and sounds but it has a blue tint to the picture - i have done a factory reset and that hasn't helped

The phosphor or yellow center on the backlight leds crumbles and falls off leaving you with a bluish purple tint to everything on the screen the telltale sign is when your tv is first turned on the vizio logo will have a blue tint and the black screen will also have a purple blue tint… search blue vizio on youtube you can see a vizio torn down exposing the defective leds … I have called vizio and they will not fess up to the defect backlights nor will they authorize any concession for warranty, I am waiting for the class action lawsuit to begin……. Also was at walmart recently and noticed some Phillips tvs that were blue on display failing before even leaving the store!!! Contacted shopjimmys for new led backlights to repair the set and was told this wasn't possible…. Wrong. They are defective leds from vizio

most tint failures after a settings reset are usually a problem with the Image Processing Circuits.
I have not opened this specific model before. sometimes they are attached the the LCD itself, and sometimes they are on the board. repair would vary depending on which it is.

some one told me to replace the "mother " board - but it looks like there are two different boards - a green or blue - do i have to take it apart to find out?
if there are two differen boards, it could be for a couple reasons.
1) the two boards could both be used in the device, in which case, you would need to find out which one houses the Imaging chips on it, and replace that one.
or 2) the boards could be different revisions of the same model, in which case you would need to know which revision your board is.
either way, you would need to open it, and figure out which one you need to buy

Hold on there. before you go replacing anything, check this: make sure your video cable is connected nice an tight.

YOU HAVE BAD LED BACKLIGHT STRIPS. THIS IS COMMON IN VIZIO LEFD TV’s. THEY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT IS A HIGHLY SKILLED PATIENT TASK WHICH WILL TAKE 3-4 HOURS TO REPLACE

I’m having the same blue tint. Has anyone accomplished fixing it yet. I don’t wanna throw money at it without being for sure. I won’t buy Visio again. Class action would be nice.

I have the same issue. Several people have tried to adjust. Still blue. Only 4-5 years old.
