So I broke my iphone 6 screen and ordered a replacement off of Amazon. After replacing the screen it wouldn't come on. I can get the screen to come on if I plug in the old screen to power the phone on then while the phone is on switch the ribbon cables but then once I restart the phone, the screen won't power on (no display/apple logo)

Do not attempt to swap the screen while the phone is powered on or the battery is plugged in. You will end up blowing the backlight filter resulting in no backlight.
And if that happens someone with micro-soldering experience would have to replace the backlight filter.
Chances are the replacement screen is faulty if the old screen works still.
