Availability of spare parts for LG G5

One reason the LG G5 got such a good ifixit-rating for repairability is the modularity of the components.

From a practical point of view, I wonder how easy it might be for me to get spare parts in a few years (within the next 3 to 6 years). This determines how useful the fact of the modular components is for me to repair the phone.

I'm not very experienced, so my questions to the makers here: from your experience, how realistic is it that I would be able to get spare parts in a few years if something breaks.

Thanks!

Parts are still readily available for the LG G2 almost four years later so I would assume yes. There is also the used part market like eBay that will usually keep parts around for a very long time.

Hello Mojo, I am not a maker of this site, however I am an expert in the cellular field and would love to help you with your question.

The answer is more than likely Yes, it will still likely be relatively easy to acquire parts for your device. Looking back on a older device called the LG G2 (LG's Flagship model) parts are readily available and accessible. Particularly, most flagship phones by Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC, etc will have parts available due to third party manufacturers. No one can tell the future, however it is very likely.
