Why won't my controller turn on?

My controller was left in a hot car for 3 days and nights. When I got it home I pressed the PS button to turn in on as 2nd player, so the PS system was already on, and the left rumbler started vibrating instantly. The light was red. I plugged it in n it changed through all the colors now it's just red, it's solid for 5 seconds then fades out n back in when charging. Off the charger it's still vibrating but no light. Is it trashed or what? Why is it rumbling still!
