Why is the laptop not booting

the power led is coming on but ther is no spin up on the HDD or the CPU fan and the screen is blank or black

Bill -- Try this: Remove battery for about 30 minutes, replace battery, connect power cord, then try turning it on again. Sometimes this works.

try the following:

remove from AC power supply.

remove the battery.

press and hold the power button for around 30seconds.

recconect everything and try
