Why is my Airpod case not turning on or connecting to my phone?

*Get another AirPods case and charge YOUR AirPods units in another case to determine if your case, or either AirPod is bad.*

Do you have any friends that have AirPods? If so ask them if you can put your left and right unit in their case. If both of them charge you'll know they are not the problem. The problem likely lies within the charging case. You can buy another case from Apple for around $70.

If your AirPods don't charge in another case then the problem likely lies with the AirPods. If they do charge I suspect your charging case is to blame.

Basically throw them out the &&^&^$^ window and get a new pair…. No im joking i have encountered an isssue in which the case is determined to be at a status of being dead, and even when put on charge there is no way the case is turning back on. Honestly will consider returning item. I will try fix tonight and if i do i will update you guys. Its just pretty $@$*!& that after 3 months, £200 bluetooth headphones can &&^&^$^ go through so many errors. Tbf it well feels like i have been &&^&@@ over by Apple but will find solution and update

Guys, I'm having this problem too. My airpods were just acting normally untill one day battery drained to 0 and now I can no longer use them. When I plug charger no response. No light. No sign of life. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Can you guys help me out? Is there anything promising or they are finally dead?

This might sound ridiculous but for me it worked when I pushed the top lip of the case forward when opening. This might not work for everyone but it was like magic for me.

Just push on the back of lid and push it up at the same time.

I think you have to press button on the back of the charging case. The pairing with the iPhone part I don’t know.

I’m having the same issue, but after having them for 2 years- so there’s no recourse for a guy like me. I’ll need to eventually break down and get a new set. The headphones are randomly disconnecting and the case is randomly not lighting up, even though all are charged well over 20% most times.

I KNOW HOW TO FIX!

1. you need to plug your AirPods in to a power outlet
2. then connect to WiFi enabled phone/iPad
3. leave for 5 mins
4. and the FireWire is updated and should be working fine

Yep, I accidentally put mine through the washing, and well the case isn’t lighting up at all and I can’t even use the thing to check the percentage because they won’t connect to my phone because the button isn’t working either. Don’t want to buy another one truthfully even though I love them ever so much. Just charging them overnight and seeing what happens in the morning.

My led indicator won't work without a charger do you know how to fix that

i have the same problem, my sister used them in the shower when i told her not to. now my mom has to repair them and they wont show the light or wont connect to my phone. i wouldn’t recommend putting them with any water.

I had the same thing happen. Mine are working now, what i did is i took the airpods into another case by Blackpods.

Then took them out again, looked on my phone to see that they were connected.

Then i put them into the original apple airpod case.

Then i charged the case with the airpods inside

And then it worked like normal.

Having the same issue. But I put the airpods into another charged case and it instantly killed that charge case!!!

HELP!!!!!

This happened after my AirPods went through the clothes washer. In other words they got wet. The only way I found to make them “work” again was to fully recharge the case and the pods, leave them plugged into the lightning cable, then pair them to whatever device. If the case is ever unplugged, they won’t be able to pair.

Guys my case light turns orange when i plug it in to a charger for about 8 secons, i left it for about 2 hours and the case hasnt been charged..has anybody got a solution about this ?

yall my airpods are completely dead but its fully charged and after almost an hour of research I just found the same things over and over again. I had them connected to my iPad and my android phone but it stopped working so I just “forgot” the device and now when I press the back button to pair them back there is no response but it still connects to my computer. help. srs. I'm gonna die.

I was using my airpods and I haven’t charged them for two days, while I was using them both airpods disconnected and I thought it was because the case was low battery (the airpods itself still had battery left), didn’t really think much of it until the next day I tried charging it and there was no light popping up, left it on for a few hours and still no light, cleaned the port, took out the airpods, tried resetting it but no luck. It’s been a couple of days now and I’m at the point of giving up

I used my airpods yesterday to the gym and today I wanted to used them but notice the light was off. I thought it was the battery so I charged them but still noting. I try to reset them but they won’t turn on. I have leave them charging for almost 2-3 hours and still noting.

I don’t understand they were working perfectly fine and now they don’t. what should I do?

my airpods light will not glow green but when charged will show amber. when i try to pair them the white light only flashes 5 times and it wont pair to my laptop or phone or anything.

my airpods had the same problem , i let them die and then the next day wouldn’t charge , jus an amber light then i resettled like they said then when i did that my airpods was not connecting to my phone at all so then outta no where it turned off then there wasn’t no light so then i jus read these comments then plugged my airpods into a charger then held down the case tight and it started charging then i tried to connnecg them still wouldn’t work then i jus resetted my phone and now it connects buh make sure ur phone is connected to wifi

AirPods only work if I have them on wireless charger and half open them to connect then I use them throughout the day without disconnecting them or putting the back in the case until I want to charge them again. Not a fix but a solution to use them.
