Hi,
Having purchased a 2nd hand Mac Mini, and upon a fresh installation of the provided original software, I got stuck on the 2nd DVD...
It simply doesn't do anything, and the message on the screen is 'Preparing for Installation'.
When I reboot the Computer, it asks for the 2nd DVD. When I insert it, it spins a couple of times and it completely stops!
Any help? Fear I have a nice decorative brick, now! :(

the HD. Start a complete new install. You can't just restart in the middle of an install sequence. Ensure your 2nd DVD is not damaged! If it is and you have access to other Macs or HDs you might be able to do a clone or restore in Target Mode on the Mini.

Start with the install disk in the machine (you can option start to choose that startup disk). Once you choose language go to TOOLS on the menu (do not start or restart the install if asked), Disk Utility->Disk First Aid:Partition will allow you to erase/reformat the disk and start a new install.
If you mean copy that 2nd disk to a HD (if it will copy). And if you connected that HD when asked to insert disk 2 it might work (provided there's nothing else on the HD).

Thank you for your help.
However, when I boot up my mac mini that installation screen asking for the 2nd DVD comes up, and I get stuck there. How can I bypass that?
I think the 2nd DVD might actually be damaged. Can I performan install from a hard drive, for instance?
