How to adjust a Franz LM-4 Electric Metronome?

I have a Franz LM-4 electric Metronome. I don't think the company repairs them anymore. Yes, there was something wrong, since my wife couldn't adjust the beats per second. I opened it up and found that the center screw needed to be tightened to the adjustment shaft - BUT at what position of the shaft?

While I had it open, the copper strip with an ~90 degree bend in it got loose and fell out. Don't know what it does or where it should be inside.

There are 2 metal screws that are probably supposed to be used for speed adjustment, but there must be some procedure to follow & I don't know what it is. Any help out there? Any former Franz technicians able to help?

Thanks, George

I just fixed mine! All you need to adjust is the three screws holding the needle beam in place. The angle of that wire is determined by the position of the needle when you are tightening everything up -- if you tighten everything up and the needle isn't at dead center, then 60 bpm will be WAY too slow. Use 60 because you can set it with a watch. I can't say i have it to a science, but I can say that it's all in where the needle is set when you tighten everything up.

George and other respondent to this thread, I have my unit apart now with two loose parts related to the "needle beam". I'm convinced I can get it all back together again but I sure would like a photograph of what it's supposed to look like so I can get a handle on what I should do. HELP! (and Happy Thanksgiving)
