Dropped my iPod in water, having some problems

hey, sorry to bother you about questions about water, i see theres a lot, but i was wondering if you could help me out

, i dropped my ipod in a glass of water, usually more careful but it slid off my cars center console right into a cup in the back cup holder,

neways i immediatly shut it off, found this site and it helped me out alot, i took it all apart, cleaned everything let it dry out, now when it was back together, everythin was fine except the power button and my wifi is greyed out,

the only way to turn on the ipod is to plug it into a charger once it dies, any ideas of a fix or what parts i need exactly to fix these problems?? any help is great

dead battery / corroded connection = ipod dies on unplug

try opening it up using ifixit's guides. you should check for corrosion on the battery cords. use a toothbrush with rubbing alcohol to clean it off.

once thats done, test it. if that didnt fix it, try using a multimeter on the connection. if its lower than the amp-age than the battery advertised, get a new battery. warning: replacing the battery requires soldering, I suggest trying it tho, because this battery is easier to fix than the 2nd gen's.
