My GBA GamePak loses data every time I turn off the system.

Owning a Dual Screen* Lite, I am able to play GameBoy Advance games on my DS. The one particular software my problem persists with is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. You know how the Language Select screen ONLY comes up the VERY FIRST TIME the GamePak is inserted? Recently I found that that screen comes up every time I start up the software, and all the save data ever kept on this cartridge is nowhere to be found. It literally resets back to its original factory settings every time I turn the system off, so all the save files are reset to new blank ones. Even the preset high score for the original Mario Bros. game is there! I tried it on another DS Lite, and the problem still occurred. What can be done to stop this cartridge from forgetting it being used?

The battery in your Game Pack cartridge is dead. Here are some instructions to swap it out. You will need a tri-point screwdriver and a new CR2025 battery.
