your microphone may be bad or disconnected, i believe that ifixit has a guide for this.

If the microphone is indeed bad, you'll probably be better off buying a whole new dock assembly. Unless you possess mad soldering skillz, you'll find it hard to get everything to go back the way it should.

Seriously, sometimes it's just AT&T's network having issues, especially if you hangup and try again, and it works just fine. This happens to me quite a lot.

Yes, but still encounter the problem. Please help. I never dropped it that is why i wonder what happened, the phone is just a year in use.

Want to fix the problem, from the above discussion it appears to be the phone mic is not functioning. Is it worth fixing or replacing the mic?

Hi, I’ve just had my charging port renewed on my iph8. When I got it back I noticed when making calls I can hear the person I’m calling but they can’t hear me. I created a voice recording through WhatsApp and it’s just static noise. I plugged my headphones in and made a call again and the other person seems to hear me fine through heads phones, this fault was not apparent before the charging port renewal. Please can you advise ? TIA
