WiFi cannot turned on

Hi,

Got an iPad Air send in by a customer few days ago.

Glass is slightly broken and WiFi cannot be turned on.

Biggest issue is the WiFi.

Tried every possible solution i could find on the web, but unfortunately nothing seem to help. Replaced the WiFi antenna, problem not solved. Ordered a 2nd WiFi antenna and put it in, doesnt work either.

Anyone had the issue / knows a solution?

Tried to reset network settings, resetted the intire ipad, ect ect.

Hey Seppe de Zutter,

I think the Wi-Fi Logic Board is damaged. You should replace that.

Why not replace the Wifi ic chip on the logic board? This solves the greyed out, can't enable Wifi issue.

Yes please! don't spend that much money buying a whole board. try first with the wifi IC . It's the 339S0213 IC also suitable for Ipad mini 2.

Indeed you will need to know somebody who has the abilty in micro soldering as it's a trick job to perform. Better: the first thing to do before buying this IC and changing it, try to reflow the chip actually in place on the motherboard with a hot air station. It could be one ore more solder point that are not ok. I succeeded permanently with this method on an Ipad 4 wifi with the same issue as your. This said it can also be an issue with the chip and also reflowing can revive it for a while (in that case it won't be permanent). But at least you will know the origin of the issue and what to do. ;)
