iPod not charging after the battery replacement

I own an iPod Nano 6th Gen 8GB. I had problems with the battery so I replaced it myself. After replacing & following the exact procedure it still doesn't hold the charge. It is perfectly syncing with iTunes. I have soldered the wires myself, how to check if they're correctly soldered?
