Strange circles while powering up and in log-on screen, no log in

Hi,

when I power up my ASUS X202E I see strange circles and when Windows (10) asks my log in password I can't reach the input-field because the PC seems to be busy.

Could this be the touch-screen being defective?

Awaiting someone's reply,

Kind regards,

Leo

Hi everybody,

The problem is 'solved' I seem to have a short-circuit in the signal cable of the touch-screen.

I disconnected the cable on connector J3902 of the IO board and the PC was accessible again.

The only problem is no touch-screen anymore.

Kind regards,

Leo.

Same problem: during startup strange circles/bubbles showing up and flashing lines going random over the screen. Also a mouse pointer ( arrow, precision point or hand) shows up and moving. if a icon is opened, the text goes up and down and zooms in and out. really impossible to work. Updated the drivers to latest version for W10 but didn't help. Disabled and deleted the touchscreen drivers and the problems disappears and one can work with the laptop but without touchscreen. Touchscreen however does re-install itself if the PC is switched off. Have to disconnect the cable as described above by Leo. Looking for the service manual.

By disconnecting the cable, the touchscreen is disconnected and the problem completely disappeared. Although without the touchscreen, the laptop can be used again and doesn´t need to be replaced by a complete new one. Thanks Leo.

This is strange, I would try booting into safe mode (you can do this buy force shutoff 3-5 time when booting, it will start into a repair mode at some point and from there you can boot into safe mode) and see if you can login if so I would run a virus scan reall quick... And you can also uninstall the touch drivers and see if that helps...

I have ran several virus scanners and nothing has been found. It's not a virus. Just de-installing the touchscreen drivers doesn't help because next time you startup the driver will be installed automatically.

By disconnecting the cable to the touchscreen, it´s not detected any more during start-up and due to that the driver isn't reinstalled. This solved the problem. The laptop is now normally functioning but without a touchscreen. still using the ordinary mouse or touch-path, is cheaper than replacing the touchscreen !.
