battery discharges within less than 24 hours especially when you use apps,phone shows full battery then suddenly shows red. but when connected to the computer it only takes about 5minutes then it is fully charged or so it shows on screen. is this a battery problem or something else?

Sounds like the batterys "memory" has some defect.. You might be better off investing in a new battery if thats doing your heading.

What OS are you running, It is known that with Ios 4 battery life of a 3G is reduced, try changing it back to the older OS.
