Possible to repair battery?

Hi, my Padfone 2 is dead because the battery no longer works. The reason can be seen from the picture below.

As you can see, the small cable (no idea what it is called)that gets attached has come off. On proper lookup, I don't see that it was attached with anything special. It just seems to have been attached by something like a glue or something. So, is it fine if I attach the cable to the battery with a super glue or something, or it doesn't work like that? I don't want to risk charging defective battery or something and cause problems to the phone or something worse like fire.
