Why won't my GPS hold a charge?
Even after charging the battery for the recommended time, my GPS won't retain power for more than about 20 minutes. Do I need a new battery?

Test the connection of the power cord first, make sure that it is properly secured to the device. If the problem persists than the battery should be replaced.

Hi,
Given that the battery does not retain its' charge for long it probably will need to be replaced. If it has never been replaced since new, then most likely it has reached the end of its' usable life. Even rechargeable batteries have a life span.
