After screen replacement touch screen problems

Well i swapped out the old cracked screen and inserted a new one.

It worked up to a point. That being the right hand side of the touchscreen didnt't respond. Also on that side there was a fuzzy yellow spot.

So i put up with it for a while then yesterday opened it up again, took out the flex cables and reinserted them.

After that it was worse than before. Now the screen has lines and virtually no response to touch and it does random things.

I didn't turn the phone off during the repair so would that have caused anything?

Also, in the process i have lost one of the screws, namely the bottom left corner screw which hold the square plate down onto the cables.

Today i tried disconnecting the battery but that failed to make a difference.

Also tried a hard reset via iTunes but came back with error 1661 - a hardware problem was encountered.

Does anybody have any good suggestions?

I have one question for you. Did you test the screen before you buy it? Because sometime the screen was already broken. When i repair my phone screen actually i never turn it off because i can check if the screen was inserted properly. Also, i also lost some screw but it still work fine. sometime it just the screen problem.

I couldn't test the screen before it was bought. Although the new screen wasn't working correctly it was way better than it is now - i don't know what i have done. Just wondering what the best way to proceed is rather than just buying another new screen.

if you buy it online, should try to ask for refund and or resend the screen. that's the way i can think of. Good luck

and also if you want to buy other screen should tested it first or buy the one that already tested.
