What do I need to replace, LCD or glass screen?

The other day it was raining pretty hard and I had the phone on my coat pocket. Some water might have come in, because the right side of the screen doesn't respond to touch. I have a small crack on the screen. The phone seems dry and everything else works fine. I have been researching online to change the screen, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if I should change the screen, the LCD or everything. I don't want to spend money on it if it's not going to work... No insurance coverage in this case. TIA!
