Liquid Damage to Power Port Side - Can I repair this?
While sitting on my bed, drinking a beer it tipped over and flooded the power side of my MacBook Pro.
I tried to cut if off immediately, but it would not power down. I turned it over to drain it out. After that I put it in a huge bag of rice hoping it would draw the moisture out.
After sitting in the bag of rice for weeks I tried to connect it to the power cord. Got nothing. I thought there was no way it could be repaired. It has been stored, (climate controlled for the past year).
I opened the back today and can see there is slight build up of mold spores on the board and inside of cover I removed.
Is there any way I can repair this myself?
Which parts and tools will I need to purchase?
I have taken a basic computer class in which I took apart and re-assembled a PC. I know this isn't the same, as I'm working with damaged parts, but I'm not afraid to try to repair this myself, (if it's possible to do so).
Help me please with probability of repair, parts and tools needed, please.
Thank you,
Criss
