How do you fix uneven blinds?

Every time I pull on the cord, one side of the blinds goes up before the other. The strings seem to be pretty tangled. Is there a way to fix this, without ending up in a pile of string?

One set of two cords goes to one side and one set to the other. Untangle the cords so you can pull evenly.
