iMac will not power up led 501 is on

Due to my 2 year old boy taking my iphone 6 charger-plugged into imac and then putting the other end into an outlet my imac and most things connected to it have died.

I suspect the motherboard, but I am asking if anyone could confirm that via the last light being lit led 501 the one on the right. No change when i hit the power button.

Thanks for your help

Yes LCD is plugged in and Ram is still installed

That last LED light is sensing whether or not the LCD is sending/receiving a signal from the LCD. This would lead me to believe that either the LCD itself is out OR the graphics card isn't seeing it for some other reason. Do you get a boot chime?

Okay, it sounds like the power supply itself has gone out, I'm assuming the 12v rail and maybe a few others. You might want to consider pulling out the logic board and having a good look at the capacitors to see if any are popped, or bulging (They should look like little pop cans that are flat on the top).

Also inspect the board for any scorch marks around components.

If you're interested in attempting to replace it the Power supply ifix it carries the part: iMac Intel 21.5" (Late 2009-Mid 2011) Power Supply

And you'll want to follow this guide:iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Power Supply Replacement
