Is my LVDS cable at fault for no backlight?

I have an early 2014 Macbook Air given to me because wine was spilled on it. The backlight will not come on but it powers on and runs fine. I cleaned up the logic board the best I could. When plugged into an external monitor everything functions properly so I'm thinking it has to be the cable. I went to disconnect the LVDS cable and noticed that it looked almost chewed up or burnt on one end!? (picture attached). Is this the culprit for the backlight not coming on? I just wanted to make sure before ordering a new one. Also how difficult is to replace the cable? I couldn't' find any tutorials online.

You should use a oscillometer and multi-meter to measure if there's any fault on the voltage to your LED panel.
