Have you descaled the machine recently? A buildup of calcium in the boiler can diminish the quantity and quality of steam the machine is able to produce. You should use a proper descaling product; lemon juice, vinegar and other "DIY" solutions are not good for the machine's internals and will not get the job done properly.
