Depending on the tablet, the battery might of taken it's last life.
Try holding the power button down for 30 seconds, and leaving it plugged in overnight?
If the charging light is flashing or not on, the battery or charging port has failed or is broken.
(PS. If you remember that it's normal to be flashing while charging, then do not consider it faulty)
