Is it possible to replace my water-damaged keyboard?

Spilled some water on the keyboard of my MSI GE Series GE60 Apache Pro-003 awhile back, wondering now if it's possible to fix it or if I need to just continue using my external keyboard. I'm thinking it might be possible considering that the keyboard is some special "SteelSeries Gaming Keyboard" and it seems like it might be able to come off. The light effects works just fine on the keyboard, but it doesn't register keystrokes and hasn't done so in over a year since it happened. Here's a link to the keyboard, thanks!

I have GS60, and the same problem. I spilled just a bit of alcohol on the middle area (L in the middle) and whole keyboard is not working at all. Light effects are fine here as well. In keyboard settings, it is written that keyboard was working properly (even if it was not). Please help us.

If the computer was still on when you spilled the liquid on it then it may have fried some of the circuits, not all, but just enough so that the lights will work but not the keys. It would be best that if you spill liquid on a keyboard to get a replacement. If the computer was not on when you spilled the liquid on it then it would be best to take the keys off and make sure that the circuits are completely dry before turning the device back on to avoid damaging it. From the sounds of your problem the water damaged the keyboard though. I hope that this helps. sorry about your keyboards

My computer was on. I turned it of ASAP. Now works fine, keyboard works better - I left my computer's keyboard facing ground for a couple of hours, and some of them started working. Other ones were not, so I cleaned it one by one, hair dryer helped. Now they all work fine, except mysterious p and spacebar. I have not pulled it off, like the others, because it is there stronger. Do you know how to clean it? Can I pull it off, or not?

if you can pull off one key off the keyboard then you should in theory be able to pull all of the keys off and clean them. I would suggest that you try cleaning the faulty keys again p and space

I have done that. P is writable, but keyboard trolls me. Sometimes, there appears para§graph when I write (That one has really happened). Or when I type exclamation mark/G both appears!G All keys work fine, except spacebar. It makes spaces, but it seems like I did not put it back like it was. I works different like other keys. Could you help me with that?

My situation is worse :( Absolutely no keys work, and I'm afraid it's long since dried. When it first happened the keys worked fine so I assumed no water had gotten in, but then the day later nothing worked at all. My question was mostly if the keyboard was replaceable, because it seems like it might be but I'm not sure.

unfortunately if you are still having problems then you most likely did get some minor damage. All keyboard are replaceable though. Check the manufacturers website or even look around online for how to replace the keyboard if it needs replacing

Just swop actual keys around from the damaged one to the new replacement board.

It is the nordic keyboard software in Windows that detemines what the key does NOT the symbol on the actual key.
