Play station 3 controller not charging nor connecting

My PS3 sixaxis dual shock controller is not charging nor connecting to my slim console. When I press the ps button the four lights start blinking but eventually stop with no connection, even when I connect the usb charger, nothing happens..I've tried resetting it using the small hole at the back but still nothing has changed.. Please HELP!!!!!

It's sounds to me like the USB port itself is broken.

Have you tried a different cable? Have you tried charging it through a PC?

If neither worked, then it is more than likely damage to the USB port in the controller, you can repair it with the right soldering skills, if not, it's probably easier and cheap enough to get another controller. :)

Thanks for your response.. I have two cables both don't work for the controller.. But one of the cables shows a response on the screen when connected ... It's says "the maximum power that can be supplied has been reached, please remove one connection "

Saying that, this is iFixit, and if you know how to solder, you can just replace the USB port itself! :-)
