Wii U - Gamepad Sync issue

I am unable to Sync my Gamepad to my Wii U Console, When pressing the Sync Button the first time, it brings up the instructions to Sync Wii Mote Etc. In order to Sync my gamepad you usually press the sync button twice. But unfortunately it gives me a generic error when i press it for the second time. Here is a link to the error http://imgur.com/9PNAfCH

Could you please advise what I can do to resolve this issue.

Ok guys, I have a solution, after taking it to Nintendo (and them rejecting it just for having the Homebrew channel on the Wii emulator of my Wii U) and the UbreakIfix store (whom failed at fixing the Wii U even after I thought they should of been able to), I decided to take matters into my own hands, so I decided to repair it myself. I was not sure of the part and no one really states how they fixed it but I just want to share to all of you how I actually managed to fix it and what part it was because I was in those shoes beforehand. So before I started the repair I was about 95% sure the issue was the wireless 5ghz module because this site clearly stated on the replacement page for the 5ghz module that it was a component for wireless connectivity with the gamepad (Nintendo Wii U Wireless Module Replacement), so once I took it to the UbreakIfix store they told me they could not repair it. I thought they had not fixed this card because they just told me that they switched out the "Bluetooth" card and no other info, that lead me to believe that all they did was change out the 2.4ghz or Bluetooth module like the guide on this site (Nintendo Wii U Wireless and Bluetooth Module Replacement). Since my console connected to normal controllers I was almost sure that was not the issue, so I was lost, nobody else could fix it, and all hope was gone, until I decided to repair it myself because, again, I almost knew it was the 5ghz card. So just because the parts are so hard to find and since I didn't want a cheap part, I just bought just a console alone off of ebay with a coupon I had (which was only $65 which is really cheap for a fully functional console) because my gamepad was fine, so after getting the console the first thing I did was strip the part I needed the 5ghz card, but also grabbed the 2ghz module (the one with the Red and Grey wires connected to it) and took it out also just to keep it for later, so once the 5ghz was replaced, I noticed the console got the same error after pressing sync twice, I had nearly given up then. Just fooling around I tried the 2ghz card, and to my surprise, the issue was fixed! I couldn't believe it, the card that I never expected to be the issue, was the issue, not sure if many confuse the 2 for what purpose the serve in the console but I do know that it worked for me and will post it everywhere possible so everyone will know how to fix it. I'll even try to take pics but I hope this helps some of you!

Hey, no the link did not help. I ended up sending it back to Nintendo support. I think it's a hardware issue. As when I got it back they said something had been replaced but not specify what it was.

If only they could have specified what the main problem was, that would be so much easier for us to get it repaired, some guy at a local repair store (I live in Mexico) told me he has seen this problem before, and that it would cost me around 30 dlls to get it fixed, hope he really knows what he's doing, since this would be so much cheaper than sending it to NOA from here, thank you for your response!

Hi.

I've exactly the same problem .. an worst of this it's that Nintendo refuses to fix the problem (I'm out of the guarantee and they say that I've done modifications in the Wii U ... this is not exactly the case, but I did the homebrew for the Wii enclosed in the Wii U .

The Wii u is accesible trough the wii remote but , as you know, to access to the Wii U configuratiosn its mandatory to use the gamepad

Please if you've any idea of how I can solve this problem ... or what is the problem I'll appreciate.

Best Regards.

Hello has anyone solved which component needs to be replaced. I replaced the 5Ghz wireless module 2878d-wina2, and was not able to get it to work, but the module i used was purchased used and may also be defective. All of my reading up on the chipsets tells me that this is the wifi module meant for the video streaming. I believe its the correct module, however the console behaves the same way with either wifi module disconnected. Its hard to find wii-u repair information.

Same problem, get an error has occured when pressing the sync button twice, and no connection to the wii-u gamepad. Since i get the same error just by pressing the button twice, I suspect its a problem in the console and not the wifi chip in the controller itself. Since I should be able to get the sync pattern on screen in order to sync a new controller, but it can't even do that.

I'm about to order a few parts and take my Wii U to a shop, I will note down what the issue is if we can fix it. It seems like either nobody wants to share what the issue is, or nobody knows.

I have the same problem and replaced the MIC-B2 5 Ghz chip with a used one and it didn't fix the problem... but I can't tell if the used chip is in working condition. The problem started after connecting online for the first time. I updated to 5.5.1 through a gamedisk and everything was working fine. When I first connected online, I got a notice on my gamepad about it been updated and was asked to activate the quick start menu. I immediatly started getting sync issues that I fixed by factory resetting my wii u and removing the battery in the gamepad. After that I only played wii games (not using the gamepad much) and it worked for about a month before getting the error when double pressing the sync button on the console.

Well, this really is a generic error. I've seen it before on the Wii, it's usually related to the console getting confused in some way or another. It probably means your gamepad has a problem with the Bluetooth intercepter and the outputs are all messed up. It's ideal you buy a new gamepad but you can probably simply change out the Bluetooth intercepter
