water Damage screen no backlight

Ok so i yesterday i got a small amount of water on my phone around the button area without knowing later that day my phone screen wouldn't work so i restarted my phone the boot screen flashed 2 times and refused to turn on i curiously removed the back and notices the water around the battery and button area after wipeing it off i put it in rice and did some looking there is a digitizer ribbion cable right next to the button and im thinking water in the ribbon is there any thing i can do i can still use my phone ( i can press buttons) but i just cant see anything AKA No back light
