Power button not working after battery replacement?

I replaced my teenage daughter's iPhone 5s battery today. Now the power button does not work. My guess is that I damaged the cable for the power, volume, and mute buttons when I was removing the adhesive under the battery.

Does that make sense?

Any other ideas of what it could be? I do not think I damaged the logic board with a long screw, but I am not 100% sure. Has anyone seen "long screw logic board damage" result in just the power button not working?

I replaced the upper component cable (Power, Volume, Mute, Vibrator, Flash, Microphone) and the problem has been resolved. One very happy teenage daughter, and one very relieved father... :)
