Why wont my phone charge

i have a samsung s4 mini the back got wet but now it wont charge it still works but when i try to charge it i get a message saying carnt charge not using samsung charger but i am when switch of i get a yellow triangle with a black battery in and a line going though it do i nead a new battery or is it more serious
