Hard disc drive does not boot
How can ifix my hard drive... Fujitsu IDE 40gb, can I remplace ir with a sólid state HDD?

i doubt it can be replaced with a ssd. IDE technology is very dated with the introduction of SATA... however you could easily find a replacement IDE drive on ebay from an older laptop... in this case though you must use recovery discs or install a new OS

You can still find a few IDE SSD's out there. While they are not as fast as a SATA drive (faster than a HD) it might be possible. The real issue is the OS and the ability to recover.

Can you give us the model of your computer as well as the OS version you have on it. Also, do you still have your recovery disk that came with your system?
