I want to repair my OS in a PowerBook G4 don´t boot

I have a problem ... the disk utilities said it repaired the disk ... but it is still not booting .... Is there a way to ¨repair¨the operating system? The other problem is that my dvd has an older version of the leopard because the upgrade was made through internet. Can anybody help with a ¨How to¨ fix these?

Do an "archive and install" off the DVD. Then download your updates.

Thanks a lot. I imagined that more or less that was the procedure, but as I had not experience with Mac in these, I decided not to ¨touch¨ till havin some expert advise.
