Headphone jack not working

My headphone jack stopped working the other day, so i bought a new lightning dock/headphone jack and installed with no problems, but the headphone jack is still unresponsive to any type of 3.5mm cable. Before you ask, yes i am experienced and i have taken apart and repaired multiple iphone 5, 4, 4s, etc. is there some kind of connector or grounding cable im missing?

I have the same problem , I ran into this issue when replaced battery by myself . I have also tried replacing charging port assembly but still no sound from headphones . When headphones are plugged in sound comes from speakers . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks

Did either of you guys manage to get this resolved as I too have run into the same proble. I have replaced the charging port/headphone assembly. I have reset the phone to factory standards and upgraded it to the latest IOS and it still wont work. The jack just stopped working a week ago, no reason why, no water ingress and the phone always has a protective cover so I have no idea why this has happened. I have checked and rechecked all flexes and connections. The jack is completely dead and does not recognise anything. Thanks in advance!

Could be solved by a restore if files are corrupt just a thought as far as I know there is no grounding clips or anything involving the dock I know the little washers are under the dock but think they are there for spacing

Do you mean a factory reset or just restore from a backup?

door

yes just a restore from backup would be grand>

bigmac has a point unclip the connector for the dock on the logic board and see if the pins look damaged

After i did this, it worked perfectly, i wish i would have thought of it being a software bug before i threw ten bucks away on a new lightning connector and jack, but hey it's a learning experience. thanks a lot!

Same problem a couple of months ago. I would open the phone and check to make sure that there is not bent pins or broken off pieces in the jack.

I also ran into a friends problem with the same thing, ended up being bent pins on the connector on the logic board. if it's that then you'll have to decide how bad you need a headphone jack.

Can you point the location of the headphone pins on the logic board?

You may want to try this before anything else: I turned my phone off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on. It's working perfectly.
