Why is my trunk is not closing when opening in close weather

I was going to put something in the trunk and found out i forgot my trunk doesnt close anymore when i was opening it in below 5 degrees it wont close at all unless is hot if is the trunk not latching or rubber piece rip of dont know need help and the civic is a hatchback
