Valen S, one of the things to remember is that the Shuffle 4G has a few IC's of unknown type as part of the cable, so we are not sure yet of exactly what they do and how they impact the cable. The pinout itself is as follows ( I am using your markings)

iPod pin 4 to USB pin C => USB DATA - / Left Channel

iPod pin 3 to USB pin B => USB DATA + / Right Channel

iPod pin 2 to USB pin A => GND

iPod pin 1 to USB pin D => Vcc

Hope this helps, good luck.

hmm, weird that nobody has ever taken one apart. the ic stuff is probably a way for apple to earn money :(

Yup, that is what makes those cables special and costly ;-)

Did the correct pinout get you comnected or is the PCB necassary to establish a connection?

I have found a PCB with several CMD electronic components like IC's, capacitors and resistors inside USB connector of iPod Shuffle 4g cable.
