iPod touch glass front panel raised a bit?

Can you help me to check if your iPod touch is like mine on this picture?:

Block Image

as you can see in the photo, the glass cover is a bit raised over the chrome bezel at the bottom LEFT part.

is this common on most iPod touch? or it is manufacturing defect on mine? i never took it apart or dropped.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

If the glass has ever been replaced, it's likely the adhesive and front bezel were not installed correctly or just are slightly off. If it really has never been opened or dropped, i wonder if it is some kind of defect-- perhaps it got warm and the adhesive slipped slightly causing the glass to become un-aligned.

Thanks for your answer. And there is a way to solve this other than opening it or taking to the Apple store?

door

No it's a different part with a different number

Mine is the same. There may be two models because I just ordered and received a new front panel from iFixit and got the wrong part. I requested a RMA on it but have not heard back from them. What is the model number on the back of yours?

When i type the serial on apple it says iPod Touch (Late 2009)

The Model Number says: A1288

door

Mine is also the A1288

The part I needed was a FCAW 080728 GP4-3-C1.

What I got was a FC AW 091001 GP6-4-C2

Ben Eisenman, (iFixits great parts man), should be able to clarify this for us on Monday.

so probably my iPod touch was made with the wrong glass front panel? :(

door

Not at all. I think this model may have two different types of panels and ours has not been identified yet.

Excuse me! Thanks for your your help! I am not sure if something was lost in the communication or what, but the exact thing has happened to my iPod, and I have sent mine to Apple and was just commenting on what happened in my situation. Usually that is what goes on in Q & A type forum, people share experiences to help each other. I didn't mean to upset you over something so mundane! Trust that you will not hear from me again!

I think the glue comes loose or dissolved with the heat of the hands... causing this. I'm going to use a hair dryer to dissolve the glue again then press the glass... hope this pops it back into its place
