not getting spark on wires
car is not getting spark.check engine light is on and it would go away when my son pumped the brakes and jiggle the shifter .then car would start and run great

Loose ground connection may be breaking the electrical circuit, then "jiggling" around may make the intermittent connection again, allowing the car to start.
