Wireless Charging Stopped Working After Battery Replacement

Tekst:

I just replaced my iPhone's [product|IF426-009|rear camera], [product|IF426-001|battery], and [product|IF426-012|lightning connector assembly] in one go. The camera had focusing issues, battery health was at 78%, and it wouldn't charge by cable. Now, the camera works perfectly, battery is at 100%, and it charges through the Lightning port. Amazing, but wireless charging has stopped working! I've yet to re-seal the display and wanted to see if I missed a step and should backtrack, or if iFixit's replacement batteries just don't support wireless charging, as they're not recognized as genuine Apple batteries (which is what it says in Settings). The phone is running iOS 18.1.1, and I followed [guide|128676|this guide].

Update 1: I did a quick search and learned that the black pad under the battery contains the charging coil. Maybe my placement of the new battery was off, though I thought it was fine, as the cable (circled in red) was properly aligned.

Update 2: Upon closer look at the video (specifically, around 8:40, after he removes the motherboard), I can see the connection from the gold plate on the wireless charging antenna's cable. That may be the issue. Will re-disassemble later and check for contact there. Hopefully it doesn't require removing the battery.

Update 3: Partially disassembled to check the wireless charging antenna's cable end, but didn't find any issues with it. My best guess is that I just damaged the wireless charging antenna's cable during battery removal, while prying under the battery for the adhesive. Can't fix that now, oh well!

While doing the repair, I didn't notice anything that obviously resembled a wireless charging coil. Placing my phone on the charging pad now turns the pad's LED indicator from red to flashing blue, meaning there's an issue preventing charging. When it works, the indicator is a steady blue. The phone is running iOS 18.1.1, and I followed [guide|128676|this guide].
