First at all try the steps below:

* Get a new Ethernet cable and try again with it,
* Upgrade network card drivers,
* Clean up Ethernet port with an ear stick soaked in isoproponal alcohol

If this actions won’t help, it’s possible that Ethernet port is damaged.
