-@beesah if it would be a CRT I'd agree with @magnettusprimus then it could be burn in but this is very uncommon on TV's since the picture changes to frequently and it is an LCD display. This sounds more like an input issue. Try different input sources. Try coax, component, HDMI etc and see if that changes anything. If nothing else will work you'll have to unplug it and remove the back of your TV and check the power board but focus more on the main board. Check for bad caps and other damaged looking components. It is possible that this is a bad panel but you need to rule other things out first. Post some images of what your screen displays as well as the boards with your question.
