Yes, I'm sure the cd disk works, because I used it to install 10.3 in another clamshell weeks ago. Sadly that clamshell got inundated by a flood. It was a total loss, the water corroded many components inside. Mayer, thanks for the link. Although the Apple article mentions Powermac G3s as the affected models, I suspect a few clamshells were also involved. Thanks to all who responded.
