DVR Won’t Turn On
The DVR does not power on when the power button is pressed.
Unresponsive Power Switch
The power switch on the back of the DVR will need to be set to the “on” position in order for the device to power on successfully. Flip the switch and see if the device functions as expected. If the switch has no effect, check to make sure the connector cable is installed properly and replace it if needed.
Faulty Power Adapter
As the DVR does not use an internal power supply, it uses an external power adapter. Check if the adapter is properly connected to a power outlet and check if there is a lit LED on the adapter itself. If the adapter appears properly connected and there is no indication that the adapter is functioning properly, replace the adapter.
Unresponsive Main PCB
If the power adapter is not at fault, the control board inside the device is most likely faulty. Replace the control board.
DVR Not Saving Recordings
The DVR is not saving recorded camera recordings.
Wrong DVR Settings
Check the settings menu of the DVR and ensure that any applicable settings for enabling camera recordings are enabled.
Corrupt/Unformatted Hard Drive
If the recording settings are correct and the DVR is still not saving recordings, the hard drive may be corrupted or formatted incorrectly. Try reformatting the hard drive manually.
Faulty Hard Drive
If reformatting does not solve the issue, then the internal hard drive may be faulty. In that case, try replacing the hard drive.
Unable to Change Settings
The settings cannot be adjusted by the buttons on the DVR
Unresponsive Front Panel Buttons
Check the front panel and verify that the buttons all press properly and are not obstructed or misaligned. If any buttons appear to be faulty, replace the front panel.
No Camera Input
The DVR is not receiving input from the camera or cameras
Loose A/V Connections
Check the A/V connections on the back of the device. Ensure that all cables are attached properly. If the cables are attached properly and you are still not receiving video, try replacing the cables.
Faulty A/V Connector Board
If the problem persists, try replacing the A/V Connector Board. The board that connects the A/V cables to the main board may be removed and taken out of the device.
Wrong Date/Time
The DVR is displaying the incorrect time or date.
Wrong Date & Time in Settings
Make sure the date and time matches the actual date and time. Save your settings and check the time displayed.
Faulty Internal Battery
If the date and time does not save, particularly after the device is unplugged for a period of time, check the internal CR2032 button cell battery on the control board after removing the front panel. Replace the battery if dead.
