Tablet Will Not Charge
Insignia Flex will not charge when it is plugged into the charger.
Faulty Charger
If your tablet does not charge when using your current charger, the charger itself may be the cause of the problem. Charge the Flex with a different charger, either a brand new one or a used one that is known to work. If the Flex still will not charge when it is plugged into the other charger, then the charger is most likely not the cause of the problem. See below for other possible causes.
Faulty Charging Port
If the Flex does not charge with another charger, either a new one or a used one that is known to work, then the charging port on the Flex may be faulty and need replacement. Consider replacing the charging port on your own or seeking the help of a professional.
Faulty Battery
If the Flex turns on when plugged into the charger that is plugged into the wall, but the Flex does not turn on when separated from the charger, you may have a faulty battery. This means that your battery can no longer hold a charge without being actively plugged into the charger. Consider replacing your battery using this guide.
Screen Won’t Respond
The Insignia Flex does not respond when touched on the screen.
Tablet Not Turned On
If your screen isn’t responding, you should first make sure it is turned on. If it is not turned on, hold the power button for five (5) seconds to turn on the tablet.
Tablet Not Charged
If the tablet does not turn on when you hold the power button, it may not be charged. Plug your Flex into its charger. Wait approximately 10 minutes before even attempting to turn it on. When the Flex is charged, hold the power button for five (5) seconds to turn on the tablet.
Faulty Screen
If the screen still does not respond to touch after ensuring the Flex is turned on and fully charged, there may be an issue with your display that could have occurred after damage to your tablet. Consider replacing your screen using this guide.
Tablet Won’t Turn On
After pressing the power button, the Flex does not turn on.
Tablet Not Charged
If you try holding the power button on the tablet and nothing happens, your Insignia Flex may have depleted its battery. Try plugging your tablet to a charger and letting it fully charge. This may take up 8 hours to do.
Faulty Battery
If your tablet doesn’t charge within that day and still won’t turn on, then you may need to replace the battery. This could be due to a multitude of issues, one of them being a dead battery that needs replacing. Consider replacing your battery using this guide.
Faulty Motherboard
If you have decided to replace your battery in your Insignia Flex and the issue persists of the tablet not turning on, then it likely a larger issue concerning the motherboard of the device. Consider replacing the motherboard using this guide.
Tablet Doesn’t Play Sound
When playing music on the tablet, no sound comes out of speakers.
Sound is muted
If you don’t hear the sound coming out of your tablet, the sound may be muted. Try pressing the volume button multiple times on the left side of the tablet until it is adjusted to your preferred volume. If you are having trouble finding the volume up button, the back of the tablet has a “+” and “-” to help you differentiate between the two volume buttons.
Faulty speaker
After trying to adjust the volume and making sure your sound setting is correct, if you still do not hear any sound, it could have been exposed to water which can cause water damage or a loose wire. Consider replacing the speaker using this guide.
Camera Not Working
When using the camera, nothing happens.
Dirty or Obstructed Lens
When opening your camera application and the screen appears black, the camera lens could be dirty or be blocked by something. Take a damp cloth or napkin and wipe the lens to make sure it’s clean. Once you have cleaned it open your camera application again to see if you can see a clear picture.
Faulty Camera
If you clean your camera and you still cannot see anything on your screen, your camera may have software issues. This is common and will need to be repaired. Consider replacing your camera using this guide.
