The laptop will not power on when pressing the power button.

If the laptop will not power on when pressing the power button, check to ensure the battery is properly inserted on the bottom of the laptop. If the battery is loose, completely remove it using the Battery Replacement Guide and reinsert it. If the laptop still won’t power on, the battery may need to be charged.
Malfunctioning Charger
If the laptop will not power on when pressing the power button, plug the charger into the laptop and check for the orange light on the bottom right of the laptop to illuminate. If the light does not illuminate, the adapter may be faulty, or not receiving electricity and may need to be replaced. If replacing the charger does not resolve the issue, the battery itself may be faulty. Consult the Battery Replacement Guide.

If a rattling or clicking noise inside the laptop is audible, immediately shut the laptop off; the hard drive's mechanical parts are likely failing and the drive should be replaced. Consult the Hard Drive Replacement Guide.
