I concur, dead spot developed across first line of keyboard in the portrait orientation. Later on discovered same line on keyboard sometimes has multiple false reads when finger hovers over. Replaced entire screen assembly and removed case, plus hard reset, restore, etc. Same dead line and ghost typing behavior with new screen. Locking the phone and re-unlocking seems to temporarily restore the dead spot for random amounts of time, but sometimes has no effect.

Fans can be removed with board tray, otherwise they're getting pulled off their rubber isolating feet. Once out with the mobo, the fans slide off the board tray with their plastic shoes attached.
